No Vouchers protest Denton

UWF IN THE NEWS!!

Last week while some of us were encouraging friends and neighbors to write letters, others were calling their state representatives in Austin, and others were taking a stand - literally! Denton Record Chronicle and Fort Worth newspapers pictured United Women in Faith in peaceful protests by legislators offices. Working with people of faith across the state, Texas Impact has encouraged them to live their faith values and let their elected officials know they value public schools for all children, not vouchers for a few. The Ft. Worth Telegram reported "Since the beginning of October, the Austin-based organization has gathered letters from about 4,000 Texans calling on lawmakers to vote the voucher proposal down." Several protests were made across the state.

I'm thankful for United Women in Faith and all my UWF sisters for their love in action on behalf of women, children and youth here in Texas and around the world. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Wendy Campbell, 2023 NTC United Women in Faith President
