Controlling Dandelions & Weeds

Dandelions and other weeds are popping up everywhere. Here are some quick tips for controlling them.

Weeders - The simple dandelion digger is one of the essential tools for getting to the root of the problem! Best used in moist lawns or soil, you simply drive the digger down to dig the weed right out at the root. Catch them when the root is small for easier removal.

For shallow rooted weeds in garden beds such as chickweed, the Garden Bandit tool is also a great choice. The stainless steel loop blade allows for precise weeding around plants. A staff favourite! $19.99

Killex - An effective chemical weed control that works quickly on most varieties of broadleaf weeds in the lawn, including dandelion and chickweed.

Weed B Gon - An environmentally friendly weed control for dandelions and other weeds. This iron based herbicide works best when applied to moist grass.

Note: weed controls are best applied when temperatures are below 25C.
