The NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) has released its Supports Program Policies and Procedures Manual

The manual applies to anyone enrolled in the Supports Program and who is not currently on a Community Care Waiver (CCW). It replaces the Standards for Supported Employment Services, Standards for Adult Day Programs, and Self-Directed Services (SDS) Policies & Procedures manuals effective immediately.

While the manual is considered final at this point, the Division will review or revise policies as needed. To provide feedback to the Division, you can contact the Supports Program Help Desk at

"Mothers of Bedford" Film Screening & Panel Discussion
Join NASW-NJ and the Rutgers School of Social Work Graduate Student Association in Camden for a compelling screening about imprisoned mothers in New York, who attempt to keep a family connection, especially with their children. This is a follow-up to last year's screening of a film about race and mass incarceration in the Philadelphia area.

Mercer/Burlington Service Project at the Rescue Mission House of Trenton  
For Social Work Month, Unit leaders- Heather Ciociola and Melissa Weisel (l-r, bottom row) along with former NASW-NJ President, Christine James and other Unit members paint the TV room in the Emergency Shelter of the Rescue Mission House in Trenton, NJ on 3/19/16.

The group was given a tour by one of the residents of the TEACH program, a job-readiness and educational initiative developed to improve future outcomes for residents at the Rescue Mission who participate in their residential offerings. The Rescue Mission also operates an outpatient clinic, provides addiction services, and supportive housing. To volunteer your time as a volunteer at the Rescue Mission, call  (609) 695-1436.
Legislative Education and Advocacy Day
April 21 in Trenton

NASW-NJ works every day to influence policy and legislation that affects our state's most vulnerable citizens as well as our own profession.
To learn more about how you can influence decision makers on issues you care about - join NASW-NJ, fellow social workers, and social students from across New Jersey for Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) at the Statehouse in Trenton. The day will include expert speakers on lobbying for legislative and policy change, advocating for the social work profession, and information about legislation important to social workers.
