Volunteer with the Clinton Campaign

New Jersey Citizen Action is working on the Clinton Campaign and invites like-minded NJ citizens to join them.

Citizen Action will be holding phone banks in their office located at 75 Raritan Ave, Suite 200 in Highland Park every Thursday and Sunday evening between now and the election. They're offering state of the art voter contact training and free pizza! Click here to RSVP.
NASW Political Endorsements

The Political Action for Candidate Election (PACE), the political action arm of the National Association of Social Workers, has endorsed Democrat Josh Gottheimer to represent New Jersey's Fifth Congressional District. In addition to the support of PACE, Gotthiemer is backed by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as well as both Bill and Hillary Clinton, for whom he was a speechwriter.
PACE views the prospect of Gottheimer's election as an important addition to the roster of progressive lawmakers representing the state in Congress. These include Rep. Donald Norcross (First District), Rep. Frank Pallone (Sixth District),   Rep. Albio Sires (Eighth District), William Pascrell (Ninth District), Rep. Donald Payne (10th District), and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (12th District). All have distinguished themselves with their voting records on health, human service, and related issues. PACE is pleased to endorse these candidates for election.
The election of Gottheimer is all the more critical to advancing a forward-looking agenda in that his opponent has had a dismal record on nearly all issues of importance to social workers.
PACE National, which is registered with the Federal Election Commission, is responsible for making endorsements for candidates at the federal level.

Negative PQRS Payment Adjustment for 2017

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has distributed letters to clinical social workers and other Medicare providers regarding the 2017 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) negative payment adjustment.  The letter informs clinical social workers whether they will receive a 2017 negative payment adjustment for not satisfactorily reporting
2015 PQRS quality measures and as a result, will receive a two percent decrease in reimbursement for 2017 Medicare Part B services.

Clinical social workers may access their 2015 PQRS Feedback Report at the CMS Enterprise Portal:

After reviewing their 2015 PQRS feedback report, clinical social workers who believe they received a 2017 PQRS negative payment adjustment in error, should submit an informal review request no later than November 30, 2016, 11:59 pm EST. For more information, click here.
