Message from Executive Director
Walter Kalman

It's been a busy and wonderful week:

We are very proud of our advocacy partner organization, Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), for being honored by the NJ Senate. CAWP Associate Director, Jean Sinzdak, is pictured below (second from left) with Senate Minority Leader Thomas Kean Jr., CAWP director Debbie Walsh, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, and Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney. Jean is also a trustee of our partner, the NJ Social Education, Research and Scholarship Corporation (NJSWERS).

NASW-NJ is honored again this year to support the CAWP program, Ready to Run. Ready to Run® is a national network of non-partisan campaign training programs committed to electing more women to public office. This year's training will be held on March 18-19.  Our Advocacy Coordinator, Renee Koubiadis, and several NASW-NJ members will be in attendance.
This past week, Kendra Hayes, our Director of Continuing Education, and I  enjoyed visiting the NASW-NYC 2nd Annual Conference. Nancy Humphreys, DSW and Founder of the Institute for Political Social Work at UConn, (pictured above) discussed progressive politics with colleagues from Brown University, Planned Parenthood of NYC and Fordham University.
