Message from Executive Director Walter Kalman

As you're starting to get those year-end solicitations for donations, I want to remind you of your tax-deductible opportunity to invest in and secure the future of the Social Work profession. I encourage you to support our new partner, the NJ Social Work Education, Research and Scholarship Corporation (NJ SWERS).
You will hear much more about NJ SWERS when you come to our CE courses and networking meetings, but essentially its role is to promote education and research on health, mental health and Social Work professional issues. These include working to promote the value of Social Workers by educating the public and policymakers about scholarships, fellowships, wages and payments, loan forgiveness, etc.
Just $15 from every member of NASW-NJ would raise $100,000 per year towards achieving these critical goals. Donations to NJ SWERS, which is a charitable organization (501(c)3) under the Internal Revenue Service rules, are tax-deductible. Y ou can begin by clicking on this link,, and making a tax-deductible investment in your profession and your own Social Work future.
