Spring is here and, like you, the Statewide Charter School Board is knee-deep in planning for 2025-2026. This follows our successful and inaugural Oklahoma Charter Schools Conference on March 6-7 in Oklahoma City, where we had more than 300 attend from our statewide charter school community. We thank those of you whose schedules allowed you to take part in this event that was wholly focused on supporting and strengthening Oklahoma's charter schools.
If you did attend, please ensure that our 2026 conference is even better by completing a QUICK SURVEY if you have not already done so when one was sent to you through the conference mobile app. Responses are anonymous and the survey will only take you a few moments to complete. We will keep the survey open until April 1.
As the graphic in this email implies, we will be announcing in the coming weeks, the dates of our 2026 conference (Hint: Take the survey to help us select the best month for your team to attend), as well as the dates for a monthly Lunch and Learn to begin in July and a fall Legislative Summit. Our Lunch and Learn series will provide regular, synchronous, online training for those who need state-required training credits and for school administrators to stay abreast of trends and relevant topics for charter schools. We will hold each session at the same time each month, and it will be able to be completed over a lunch hour. The Legislative Summit will be this fall. Our vision is for leadership from each Oklahoma charter school to participate in a facilitated, one-day event that will help formulate any recommendations our agency communicates to lawmakers for the 2026 legislative session.
Our goal is to be the go-to resource for direction, inspiration and support from the state's charter school community. Should you have additional ideas for how we can accomplish that goal, please never hesitate to reach out to me or a member of our team.
