License Renewal
What You Need to Know to Renew Your License in 2016
Good News!
You can now access the  License Renewal Web site. The process is working, but due to the volume of people trying to renew, your patience may be necessary.
Please note: If you still have problems, we suggest you try renewing late at night or early in the morning as fewer people will be on the Renewal Web site at those times.
When you finish renewing, you will be able to print out a receipt/confirmation that you have paid.  Be sure to print and keep this receipt so you will have proof that you have renewed.
Please do not call or send anything to the Board of
Social Work Examiners (BSWE) office.
The renewal Web site is managed by the Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA). If you've tried to renew on the Web site at least 3 times and are still having problems, please call the DCA at 1-888-656-6225 (Option 3).
If you successfully renewed your license before August 4th, you do not need to do anything else. There is no need to call the Board or NASW-NJ.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Disorder Parity Task Force

As part of wider Administration efforts to expand access to treatment for people with mental health and substance use disorders, the President signed a Presidential Memorandum in March 2016 creating a Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Task Force. The Task Force will focus key Federal agencies on the work of ensuring that Americans receive the coverage and treatment that they need.

Share your experience with the task force.  The Task Force wants to hear from patients, families, consumer advocates, health care providers, insurers, and other stakeholders on their experience with mental health and substance use disorder parity requirements. Share your comments, experiences, and recommendations here with the Task Force. Or, submit your comments by sending an email to
