Gone but never forgotten
We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge all those that have lost their lives to bladder cancer - like Steve, shown here in this touching video that was put together by his friends and families.
His team participated in this year’s walk without him and we acknowledge how difficult that must have been. For those of you who have lost a loved one to bladder cancer and are still able support us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for honouring them and keeping their memory alive.

With your help, we have achieved 94% of our fundraising goal, raising $564,498.64. There is still time to reach 100% - please consider a small donation today. The funds raised allow us to offer free patient support, raise awareness of bladder cancer and to fund valuable research. Visit www.bccwalk.ca to donate.
Join us in welcoming BCC's new National Development Manager
We are thrilled to welcome Shasa Boshoff to the Bladder Cancer Canada team as the new National Development Manager. Shasa started by volunteering with us and this past September she officially joined the team, supporting participants and donors through Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer. With her 10+ years of experience in event management and fundraising, she is passionate about participant and donor management and is a strong advocate for community programming.

Shasa’s previous experience as an engagement specialist for the Weekend to Conquer Cancer showed her the true passion and resilience that cancer fundraisers offer. She loves building relationships with people and understanding their “why”. She is thrilled to bring her energy and creativity to the BCC team and community.

Welcome to the bladder cancer community, Shasa!

Many thanks to our latest fundraisers!

Many thanks to our friends and supporters who recently held personal fundraisers for anniversaries, birthdays and other important life events to support BCC and the work we do.

Shout-outs this month go to Sylvain and Pat! We so appreciate all that you’ve done!

From Sylvain:

“To mark Alain's departure in February 2020, I wanted to make a symbolic gesture to unite us once again after 19 years together.

Alain has cut so many heads of hair throughout his career, mine was also part of it. The last time he cut my hair was in June 2019, then life became synonymous with illness, hospitalization and time passed too quickly. Without realizing it, my hair became a symbol of attachment to him and everything we went through together.

I want you to know that Alain left with peace of mind and the certainty that he had the best of lives.  Since we didn't have the opportunity to celebrate his time on earth as we should have, cursed pandemic, I decided to shave my head for the right reason and for the right cause.

My shaved hair will be donated to an organization that makes wigs and the proceeds will go to the Bladder Cancer Canada, a cause very dear to Alain's heart for which he was an active and dedicated volunteer.”
