RECTOR'S MESSAGE
Every Piece Counts
Supporting Our Youth in Supporting the Food Pantry
Right now, it feels like everything is "on hold" as we await the outcome of the election. Certainly, our shared psychical energy is very much wrapped up in the vote count. At the same time, the needs of the world haven't gone away; nor will they, once the election is decided. What we know for sure is that our collective church commitment to embodying God's hospitality and hope in the world will not change; and we will continue to work together for the good of all, as we enter a holiday season like no other.

Although many of us have yet to fully turn our thoughts toward Thanksgiving, it will be upon us before we know it. With Thanksgiving in mind, I am delighted to report that St. B's youth group has launched a food drive to help restock the Tarrytown Food Pantry with the basics: plain oatmeal, 2 Ib. bags of rice, peanut butter, "long-life" ultra-pasteurized milk, tuna, sardines, pasta and all types of dried beans. You might wonder why this list doesn't include turkeys and pumpkin pies. Well, the reason is simple: this food drive is deliberately focused on gathering the foodstuffs that are in high demand and the source of everyday thanksgivings. So I invite all of us to get behind this food drive, and support our youth as they seek to be of service to our neighbors-in-need in Tarrytown and the surrounding area.

Onward in Hope,
Gareth
STEWARDSHIP 2021
We are delighted to report that we have received  37 pledges totaling $175,660 from 31% of our members. That means that we are 44% of the way to our goal of $400,000. This is a fantastic start to our campaign, and we look forward to receiving more pledges as a sign of our collective desire to sustain our church and one another in the upcoming year.

2021 Calendars Needed for New Beginnings
St. Barnabas is once again collecting 2021 calendars for New Beginnings of Westchester located in Ossining. There is a plastic bin outside the church (the entrance by the choir room), and you can drop off calendars there. Thank you!

New Beginnings is a non-profit organization that provides basic household essentials to homeless families and individuals making the transition to permanent housing.
We hope you will keep St. Barnabas strong and resilient financially, as we navigate the ongoing challenges of the current environment. Please continue to make your pledges or contributions. Online payments may be made by clicking here, on our website under the "Give" section, or by mailing your check to St. Barnabas Church, 15 N Broadway, Irvington, NY 10533.
