March 2026

Greetings!

Kiss those winter blues goodbye as we spring forward into March! From egg hunts to St. Patrick's Day festivities, our calendar is full of recreational fun for everyone!

Dig into the joys of gardening

With more daylight hours and milder temps, March is the perfect time to discover the benefits of gardening. Nurture your green thumb in Gwinnett — whether it’s prepping an outdoor bed for fresh veggies, growing culinary herbs in the kitchen windowsill, or exploring a showcase of beautiful blooms!

Ready to get your hands in the soil and grow something wonderful? Gardeners of all skill levels can reserve a raised plot at one of Gwinnett’s 11 community gardens for the growing year. Apply for your plot today and review the approved materials list. To volunteer, email HarvestGwinnett@GwinnettCounty.com.

If you’re not quite ready to start gardening, get some great tips at the free Gardening 101 hands-on workshops! There are upcoming sessions on native plants and pollinators from noon to 1:00pm on March 12 at the Lawrenceville Community Garden at Rhodes Jordan Park and on March 27 at the Dacula Park Community Garden. Learn more at LiveHealthyGwinnett.com.

Don't miss the UGA Extension Plant Sale Pickup and Bonus Sale from 9:00am to 5:45pm on Thursday, March 12 at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville. This annual fundraiser supports 4-H and the Master Gardener program, including the GA Wildflower Gardens virtual class on March 17.
