The Executive Council’s meetings were held on June 25-28, Plenary sessions of that meeting were live-streamed and are available for your viewing. A few highlights of the meeting are: The Presiding Bishop announced that a new churchwide racial truth and reconciliation Commission will be established to bring recommendations to the 80th General convention to acknowledge and reconcile the church’s role in the numerous racial exploits.

Our Episcopal congregation in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a witness against the violence which has been launched against LGBTQ+ persons in the Republic of Georgia. The Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island announced the appointment of the Rev. Matthew Moore as Missioner for Environmental Justice.
As Missioner for Environmental Justice, Moore will work in collaboration with Mother Marie Tatro, Vicar for Community Justice Ministry, and in close partnership with the Creation Care Committee as ex officio member of the leadership team to mobilize the people of the diocese for environmental justice.
The diocese was just awarded a Creation Care Grant: Building a Robust Diocesan Creation Care Ministry and Creation Care Community in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island, Garden City, NY. This is a project to build a network of green teams and partnerships to reduce carbon emissions, implement renewable energy, and conduct eco-justice education. The award was $15,000.

NJ parents can find summer meals in their communities through the "Summer Food Rocks" campaign, which supports New Jersey Food for Thought. Check this clickable map of Summer Food sites. Just put in your zip code for your local info.
The Advocacy Committee of Episcopal Community Services (ECS) presents this New Jersey-specific resource for parishioners (or anyone coming to the church requesting help) who has a child in need of food or as a ministry outreach if the parish is in an area not well-served by existing Summer Food programs. Share these resources widely in your community.

2021 Diocesan Summer Youth Conference: "That's What He Said!"
In Person - Sunday-Saturday, August 15-21 at Incarnation Center, Ivoryton, Connecticut - Youth Conference is a week-long event for the young people of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Find out more >
It is a combination of many things; part retreat, part camp, and part convention. A chance for the youth of the Diocese to escape the pressures of the outside world, meet people their own age, discuss topics relevant to their lives, define their own personal spirituality, and have fun all at the same time.

El Seminario Episcopal Anglicano de El Salvador graduated its first class of four students on May 28, 2021. Established in 2017 to serve the needs of the Episcopal Diocese of El Salvador, six students were initially admitted to the program, which commenced in January of that year. Classes were conducted in person, as well as online since some of the faculty taught remotely from Central America and the United States. When the COVID-19 pandemic erupted in El Salvador in 2020, the classes were offered online only via ZOOM. Read more >

Zion Episcopal Church, 120 E. Main St., Palmyra, opened its new walking labyrinth with a blessing and free hot fudge brownie sundaes on July 11.
Labyrinth walking is an ancient multi-faith tradition for quiet contemplation, prayer and spiritual peace. Unlike a maze, there is only one path to the center, which in this case will contain bricks inscribed in memory of members’ friends and loved ones. Read the whole story >

The Create a Healthier Niagara Falls Collaborative (CHNFC) officially launched its Charlie’s Community Kitchen initiative on July 12, 2021. A press release stated, “Intended to provide food for body and soul, this program invites the community to join together for a delicious, nutritious meal while engaging in conversation – because after a year of isolation, we are all looking for new ways to connect with each other.”
Charlie’s Community Kitchen is hosted from 2-4 p.m. every Monday through Aug. 30 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Niagara Falls, NY. At each gathering, 40 to 50 hot meals will be provided to the community for free.
