Sharing Grassroots Initiatives
Some representatives of diocesan antiracism committees from around the country have decided to have an exhibition booth at this year’s General Convention. Its purpose will be to share grassroots, antiracist ideas and initiatives with Convention attendees. Our national church has given us many excellent antiracist resources, and there is wonderful antiracist work happening in dioceses and congregations as well. Our booth would share some of those grassroots efforts.

Continuemos siendo esencia, color, ternura y generosidad.

Good News Gardens is a church-wide movement of individuals, congregations, schools, colleges, seminaries, monasteries, camps and conference centers involved in a variety of food and creation care ministries – gardening, farming, beekeeping, composting, gleaning, feeding, and food justice advocacy. Diocese of New York
The New York Diocesan Reparations Committee was created by the 330th Diocesan Convention in response to three 2006 General Convention resolutions calling on dioceses to respond to the Transatlantic Slave Trade and its aftermath of segregation and discrimination. The role of the Reparations Committee is to collect and document information on the complicity of the Diocese of New York in the institution of slavery and its subsequent history of segregation and discrimination. The committee will consider the benefits the Episcopal Church derived from the institution of slavery and collect, through documentation and storytelling, information on historical and present-day privilege and under-privilege in order to discern a process toward restorative justice.
