  • On March 9, the workshop will focus on topics in the Blue Book.

An ambitious pandemic project: DIY organ rebuilding - The pandemic has been a time for learning new skills and starting new projects. Mark Wright decided to teach himself how to rebuild his church’s beleaguered pipe organ.

Nearly a year into this project, Wright estimates that the organ renovation is 90% complete. “The organ is so much more versatile now. I can accompany a soloist with a lovely soft sound. People are noticing during the services.”

A rededication of the organ is tentatively scheduled for the Feast of the Ascension in May 2022. “I want the organ to be a sign of rebirth,” he said. He also hopes that it will encourage the re-establishment of a choir.

Park Joon’s photography exhibition, "America the Beautiful," is a benefit event to raise funds to help the child victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. The money raised will help the "I Am Spring" center in Daejeon, South Korea. Seventeen children live together under the protection and the guidance of the director, the Rev. Dr. Lee Young Ah, who is a psychologist and an Anglican deacon. This benefit will bring them a small gift of hope and love they desperately need and let them know that there are people who care about them. They need to know that their lives are precious and life is worth living. Click here to read more.

Kim Goodman, a volunteer with Garden of Love at St. Paul's Cathedral, Buffalo, recently spoke with The Buffalo News about her efforts to make sure recently resettled Afghan refugees had socks.

" Goodman, for instance, contacted the Hanes underwear company...to donate more socks, this time for the newly arrived Afghan evacuees. 'I was like, ''I wonder if Hanes could get them just 300 pairs of socks, because they said 300 people were getting off the plane and clearly wearing sandals," ' Goodman said. 'So I sent it to my connection at Hanes. Not only did she answer, she sent 500 pairs of socks and 500 pairs of underwear.'"
