  • 1872: The College moves to its new location in the recently opened facilities of the New York Ophthalmic Hospital on 23rd Street and Third Avenue.
  • 1888The cornerstone is laid for a new College building and the associated Flower Hospital on East 64th Street.
  • 1928: Walter Gray Crump, M.D., Class of 1895, professor of surgery, establishes the first scholarship for African-American students at a majority-white medical school.
  • 1940: The College awards its first basic science graduate degrees at Commencement as part of a new program which allowed students to earn a master's degree in a basic science along with their M.D.
  • 1960: The College celebrates its centennial.
  • 1972: NYMC moves to Valhalla.
  • 1984: The Alumni House is renovated.
  • 2016: The Valhalla campus expands with the opening of the Touro College of Dental Medicine at NYMC, the Dr. Edward F. and Mrs. Anna M. Asprinio Fitness Center and a driveway connecting the main campus with 19 Skyline Drive.
