BioInc@NYMC Is Expanding
With construction already underway, BioInc@NYMC announced its plans to add an additional 9,500 square feet to the biotechnology incubator in order to make room for up to 20 additional startup companies. The expansion is expected to be completed just as BioInc prepares to celebrate five years since it first opened its doors. Launched in October 2014 at 7 Dana Road, today the mid-Hudson Valley's only fully-equipped biotechnology incubator on a health sciences college campus houses nine biomedical startups employing more than 50 people. Evening Honors Volunteer Preceptors
The Office of Undergraduate Medical Education hosted its annual Preceptor Appreciation and Awards Banquet, on the evening of June 5 in the Skyline dining room, to recognize the preceptors who volunteer their time and offer their supervision, guidance and skill to medical students in the Foundations of Clinical Medicine course. This year, more than 30 physicians celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of service in the program were honored. Three faculty members in the School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP) were selected by their peers and honored as recipients of the School's Annual Faculty Achievement Awards. The faculty nominated several candidates for awards in the areas of research/grantsmanship, teaching and community service and one exceptional performer in each category was selected by a committee of the faculty. The awards were presented on June 3 at the semi-annual SHSP all-faculty meeting.
