Center Of Excellence In Precision Responses to Bioterrorism and Disasters is Awarded $750,000 by New York State

New York Medical College administration and staff, local law enforcement and elected officials gathered for a press conference on July 10 to announce $750,000 in funding for the Center of Excellence in Precision Responses to Bioterrorism and Disasters from New York State. The funding will allow the Center to expand training programs for hospitals, health systems, and first responders to improve responses to disasters and acts of terrorism throughout New York State . Two SHSP Students Win Prestigious Healthcare Leaders Awards 

It was a proud evening for the School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP) when two of its exceptional students received two of only three prestigious Healthcare Leaders of New York (HLNY) Achievement Award of Distinction Scholarships. Edgewood R. Warner II, right, M.D., M.P.H. candidate Class of 2019, and Jinhee Lee, an M.P.H. student in the online program, were awarded the prestigious awards and accompanying $1,500 scholarships on, June 5, at the HLNY Gala at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, N.Y. Department of Pharmacology Hosts Talk by Regeneron Executive 

George D. Yancopoulos, M.D., Ph.D., center, president and chief scientific officer of Regeneron, gave an afternoon presentation on July 11 to standing-room-only audience. He presented "Building A Better Biotech: The Story Of Regeneron," sharing the history and successes of Regeneron, the only biopharmaceutical company led by physician-scientists for nearly 30 years that "bet it all on the power of genetics," first mouse genetics, then human genetics. TouroCDM Class of 2020 Kicks Off Their Clinical Training 

It's official: The Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College Class of 2020 has marked another milestone in their dental education when they embarked on their clinical training on June 18 at Touro Dental Health, the 32,000-square-foot state-of-the-art oral health facility. Families and friends of the students had the privilege to be among the first patients to mark this momentous event.  Read the full article.
