The Seed Work

Jesus tells a story that sounds almost too ordinary to matter. A farmer scatters seed. Some falls on the path, some on rocky ground, some among thorns, and some on good soil. Yet the focus of the parable isn’t the skill of the farmer. It’s the surprising generosity of the One who keeps sowing.

God continues to scatter His Word everywhere, even where it seems unlikely to take root. Sometimes our own hearts feel hard, distracted, or crowded with worries. Sometimes the congregations we serve or belong to can feel the same way. Yet Jesus reminds us that His Word is never empty. Where the Holy Spirit creates faith, the Gospel bears fruit in ways we could never manufacture ourselves.

Whether you stand in a pulpit, teach a Bible class, serve on a ministry team, or simply live as Christ’s witness in your neighborhood, the calling remains the same: keep sowing the seed. Trust the Sower. Trust the Word. Then watch what God alone can grow.
