Free Resource for Churches

During Covid, Rev. John C. Stennfeld of Christ Lutheran Church, Austin, TX, completed a three-year project: writing a hymn drawn from and based on one of the four Readings for the Day for the entire three-year lectionary of the Lutheran Church. All the hymns make use of tunes from the Lutheran Service Book (and/or The Lutheran Hymnal and/or Lutheran Worship), tunes that are very familiar to our laity, and so they are very congregational and organist friendly. The site is completely free. It is Pastor Stennfeld’s gift/service to the church, in humble gratitude to God.

Thank You Letter from One of Our Seminarians

From Janis Milkits:

Hello from the southern hills of Indiana!

As always, before I continue, I want you to know how truly thankful my family and I are for your continued prayers and support.

As I mentioned in my last letter in November, I am fully immersed in my deferred/ convertible vicarage at Faith Lutheran Church in Salem, Indiana and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Medora, Indiana. In addition to Sunday services at each congregation, I also lead an Adult Bible Study at each congregation and confirmation classes at both congregations on a regular basis.
