The Road to the Cross Begins with Praise

“Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” – John 12:13

This Sunday is Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most sacred time in our faith journey. As Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the crowds welcomed Him with palm branches and joyful shouts of “Hosanna!”—a word that means “save us now.” They expected a conquering king, but Jesus came as the suffering servant, riding a donkey instead of a warhorse.

For us as followers of Christ, Palm Sunday is a call to both celebration and reflection. We rejoice in our Savior who came to bring peace, not by force, but by laying down His life. It reminds us that true victory in the Kingdom of God comes through humility, obedience, and love.

This week as we continue our journey through Lent may we walk with Jesus—not only in the celebration of Palm Sunday, but also in the costly road that leads to the cross. As we prepare our hearts, let’s remember: the One who entered Jerusalem to cheers is the same One who endured the cross for our salvation.

These forms are your golden ticket for voting! Be sure to have two officers from your congregation sign the form, confirming that your congregation has elected you as their representative.

Cambodia Mission Trip Informational Meeting

Have you ever thought about going on a Mission Trip? Have you already been on one and want to go again? Well, now's your chance!

In 2024, Holy Cross, Los Gatos sent seven volunteers on a Mission Trip to Cambodia and now, they are doing it again! Anyone interested in attending the trip or providing support should attend their informational meeting.

Fred Hammer, Ministry Relations Manager for Joni and Friends Central California, will be the speaker at a spaghetti dinner where he will present on Joni and Friends. In 2025, Joni and Friends will have 15,000 wheelchairs restored and hand-delivered to 30 underdeveloped countries.

Pastor Weber Installation at Zion Unity Lutheran, Lodi, CA

Pastor Jason Weber was installed at Zion Unity Lutheran in Lodi, CA on March 30th. This church has sites in Lodi, Valley Springs and Jackson, CA. The brothers from Circuit 3 were very supportive. President Lange preached and presided at the installation.

The family picture is of Pastor Webers parents who both served as LCMS missionaries in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China.

School Spotlight: Legacy Teachers in Battle Mountain, Nevada

Christ Lutheran Church and Preschool are in the remote community of Battle Mountain, Nevada. The Church and preschool have been a part of that community for over 25 years. Although small, Christ Preschool has a big heart. One unique aspect of the school is that two of the current teachers were at one time students at the school. Schelbe Hall has been a teacher at the school for the past three years, and Dianne Drown is in her first year of teaching there. They both attended Christ Lutheran Preschool as students in the early 2000’s.
