Following Jesus into Unexpected Places

When Jesus called Matthew, a tax collector, to follow Him (Matthew 9:9–13), many people were surprised. Matthew wasn’t the kind of person most religious leaders would have chosen. Yet Jesus saw someone whom He loved and came to save.

As we move through the first week of June, many families are celebrating graduations, the end of the school year, and new beginnings. These milestones remind us that God often calls people into unexpected seasons and places. Whether you are graduating, retiring, starting a new job, or simply facing a change in routine, Jesus’ invitation remains the same: “Follow Me.”

The good news is that Jesus doesn’t wait for us to have everything together before He calls us. He comes to sinners with mercy, forgiveness, and purpose. This week, consider where Christ may be calling you to follow Him and whom He may be inviting you to welcome with the same grace He has shown to you.

Help Build God's Kingdom!

Addis Kidan Church SF children’s ministry is working to build and prepare their classroom spaces for the children in their church community. Currently serving children ranging from 2 years old through 5th grade, the ministry is gathering materials and supplies to help create a welcoming, engaging, and Christ-centered environment.

They are currently looking for books, sensory materials and toys, classroom supplies, age-appropriate toys, puzzles, games, storage bins or classroom organization tools, and any other learning materials. All support is greatly appreciated.

Email Bezzi Muluneh with questions or if you can support this wonderful program.
