In Luke 18:1–8, Jesus teaches His disciples that they “ought always to pray and not lose heart.” The persistent widow models what it looks like to live with confidence that God hears and answers. For us in the Church, prayer is not a last resort but the very foundation of mission. We don’t move forward in our own strength; we move forward on our knees, trusting the Lord of the harvest to act.

This week,  includes Boss’s Day (October 16). While many will celebrate earthly leaders, we are reminded to lift up those God has placed in authority and to intercede for our pastors, teachers, and congregational leaders. Their calling is not easy. As a family of faith, let’s commit to praying persistently—for bold witness, for faithfulness in Word and Sacrament, and for strength to endure. Christ Himself is our Advocate, and He will not delay.

2025 DCE & Youth Leader Retreat - Why We Gather

Our DCE & Youth Leader Retreat is coming up on November 6-8 at a cabin in South Lake Tahoe, California. This is just one of many opportunities for leaders in our district to come together for professional growth, mutual support, and fellowship. The DCEs and Youth Leaders are especially isolated in many ways due to the geography of the CNH District. This is a unique opportunity to come together.

Why is gathering together so important:

· We learn and grow personally.

· We bless others with our presence, experience, and encouragement.

· We live out one of the core purposes of the District: supporting and sharing our gifts with one another.

We know your days are full and responsibilities are many—but stepping away, even briefly, to connect with other church and school leaders is a gift and a blessing.

Reformation Offering 2025: A Bold Faith for Our Time

The Reformation wasn’t just a moment in history—it was a movement of courage and conviction that changed the Church forever. Martin Luther and countless others stood boldly for the truth of God’s Word, sparking a Gospel fire that still burns today.

This Reformation, we have the opportunity to step into that same spirit of bold faith. Through the Reformation Offering 2025, every congregation across the CNH District is invited to give in honor of
508 years since the Reformation. Could your congregation host a door offering or give a one-time gift
of $508?

Your gift helps fuel the same Gospel movement today:

30% supports ministries serving neighbors in need.

45% strengthens leaders through training and wellness.

25% relieves educational debt for new church workers.

This is our chance to carry the torch of faith into our communities with courage and clarity.
Together, we shine the light of Christ brighter than ever!
