Workers for the Harvest

In Matthew 9:35–10:8, Jesus looks upon the crowds with compassion. He sees people who are hurting, wandering, and in need of a shepherd. Then He tells His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few,” and sends them out to serve in His name.

This week many across our nation will pause to observe Flag Day. Flag Day can remind us of people who willingly serve others whether through military service, civic responsibility, or faithful leadership within their families.

Yet Jesus points us to an even greater calling. Every Christian has been sent into the places God has planted them: homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and communities. We may not all serve in the same way, but we all have opportunities to share Christ’s love through words of encouragement, acts of mercy, and the hope found in the Gospel.

The Lord still has compassion on the crowds. And He still sends His people into the harvest.

SHARE YOUR STORY!

Do you have a story to tell about kingdom impact or an upcoming event for our district?

Share Your VBS Story!

God is on the move this summer — and we want to hear about it.

Vacation Bible School is one of the best weeks of the year. Kids are making friends, families are getting connected, and somewhere in the middle of all the snacks and silly songs, something real happens.

If your church is hosting a VBS this year, we'd love to hear your story. Big moments, small moments, funny moments — all of it counts. How is God showing up at your VBS? Tell us about it: email doug@cnh-lcms.org.

Called to Glory...

If you would like to include any upcoming memorials, please click here to send the name, date of death, and date of service so that we may include them in an upcoming issue of the InTouch.
