The Question That Changes Everything

We spend a lot of time trying to figure out who we are. Our jobs, our families, our successes, our failures (even our social media feeds) can all shape how we see ourselves. But before we answer the question, “Who am I?” Jesus asks a far more important one: “Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15).

Peter doesn’t hesitate. “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” That confession changes everything because if Jesus is truly the Savior, then our hope doesn’t rest in having life all figured out. It rests in Him.

That truth still steadies us today. Whether you’re leading a congregation, changing diapers, working a long shift, starting school, or enjoying retirement, Jesus remains the same. He is the Christ who lived, died, and rose again for you. In a world constantly asking us to define ourselves, we have the joy of pointing to the One who has already defined us as His own.

VBS in the CNH District:
St. Paul's, Tracy

This July, St. Paul's campus welcomed 150 students and 70 dedicated volunteers for a week of Vacation Bible School! A special thank you to the incredible group of volunteers who made the week possible —many their own high school students. The teenagers served in every area of VBS, from setting up and decorating to emceeing the program and teaching at the Bible station. Their servant hearts were a true blessing and a wonderful example of faith in action.

CNH District DCEs Gather in Tracy

On August 11, DCEs and youth leaders from the CNH District met virtually and in person for the first scheduled DCE & Youth Leader Gathering of the year at St. Paul in Tracy, CA. The group connected in Bible study and through a great discussion on "Communicating with Parents and Families" led by Jen de la Motte (DCE at Good Shepherd, Turlock, CA). These gatherings are a great way for our DCEs and youth leaders to come together to support and share with each other. Being a youth leader can be a lonely job, which makes gatherings like this beneficial and much appreciated.
