Paul Morris, third from right, assistant in the Office of Human Resources, and his family were awarded a Caryn Schwartzman Spirit Award from the Autism Science Foundation (ASF) at their 12th annual Day of Learning event on April 9, at the New York Athletic Club. ASF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and funding innovative autism research and the award is presented annually to family advocates who demonstrate energy and commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with autism.

Lori Solomon, M.D. ’99, M.P.H. ’09, chair and clinical associate professor of family and community medicine and director of the Family Health Center, presented “Heart Health is Whole Health” at the Third Annual Healthy Aging Educational Day for Seniors on April 2, at a senior center in Queens, New York. The event was hosted by Touro University in partnership with the Office of Adrianne Adams, speaker of the New York City Council.

Field Trip to Ellis Island for Private Hard Hat Tour
Sunday, April 27, 2025
10:30 a.m. Campus departure
Join Edward C. Halperin, M.D., M.A., chancellor and chief executive officer, for a private “behind-the-scenes” hard hat tour of Ellis Island Hospital. Located on Ellis Island are the ruins of a hospital complex, which during its busiest years, from 1902 to 1930, was part of a major public health program. Immigrants who were found to be ill upon arrival at Ellis Island and women in labor were hospitalized in what was, at the time, a state-of-the-art facility.
