Students gathered for an elegant evening of dining and dancing at the annual NYMC SOM Formal, hosted at the waterfront Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, New York, on February 6.

NYMC Donates Microscopes to Schools, Enhancing Science Education


NYMC recently contributed to advancing science education by donating 27 microscopes to St. Augustine School in Ossining, New York, where they will support hands-on learning in the science lab, and the Jewish Educational Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, significantly enhancing their science curriculum and laboratory resources with the help of Michelle Novotny, M.A., right, senior associate dean for admissions and administration of SHSP. “On behalf of the entire St. Augustine School community, we extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Edward C. Halperin and NYMC for your generous donation,” said Debbie Fessman, assistant principal of St. Augustine School. “Your kindness and commitment to education will open new worlds of discovery for our young students, sparking curiosity and a love for science that will shape their futures. Thank you for your generosity and support of our mission to inspire learning."

Furry Friends Bring Comfort to 19 Skyline Lobby


The 19 Skyline lobby became a hub of comfort and connection on February 20 as students, staff, and faculty gathered to meet two beloved rescue dogs from Paws Crossed Animal Rescue. Hosted by the Office of Student Mental Health and Wellness, the "Pet the Stress Away" event provided a welcome opportunity for attendees to relax, recharge, and explore available mental health resources.

Transforming Rehab Care: QI Initiative Recognized for Reducing Length of Stay


The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, under the leadership of Robert Holland, M.D., the Catherine and Vladislav P. Hinterbuchner Professor and Chair of Rehabilitation Medicine, has achieved remarkable success with a recent quality improvement project at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan.
