TCDM Celebrates the Class of 2025
On May 21, TCDM celebrated both the Class of 2025 Senior Award Ceremony and the Commencement Ceremony. Surrounded by jubilant family and friends, 113 graduates walked across the stage at SUNY Purchase and received their Doctor of Dental Surgery diplomas. The TCDM Class of 2025 have put in many community hours; provided oral health care to the population of the Lower Hudson Valley, attained a 100 percent pass rate on the Integrated National Board; and have been accepted into some of the most prestigious residency and specialty programs in the country.

Noninvasive Method for Early Intraventricular Hemorrhage Detection in Preemies Revealed
Worldwide, nearly half of the premature babies born before 32 weeks of gestation each year develop intraventricular hemorrhage, a condition that can cause severe neurological damage and developmental delays. Yet, current diagnostic tools can only detect brain bleeds after they occur. Now, a recent study published in Frontiers of Pediatrics by a team of basic scientists and clinicians at NYMC, including Jonathan Fisher, Ph.D., right, associate professor of physiology and director of the NYMC Neurosensory Engineering Lab, and Edmund F. La Gamma, M.D. ’76, left, professor of pediatrics and of biochemistry and molecular biology, and the clinical team in the Division of Newborn Medicine in the Department of Pediatric, offers new hope.

Holz, Ph.D., M.P.H. ’23, Dr.P.H. ’24, dean of the GSBMS, special assistant to the chancellor, professor of cell biology and anatomy, and interim chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, presented her work on Lymphangioleiomyomatosis Patient Research Priorities (LAM-PREP) at the American Thoracic Society International Conference in San Francisco, California, May 18 – 21. This study is in CHEST Pulmonary.

The interview cycle runs from September through March and interviews are conducted on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting at noon.
