D.P.T. Class of 2022 Celebrates White Coat Ceremony
Physically distanced, yet bonded together as a class rising to the challenge of learning during a pandemic, 44 members of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) Class of 2022 donned their white coats for the first time in a ceremony on November 16. The milestone event, witnessed by families and friends online, marks their entrance into the clinical years of their education and the affirmation of their commitment to the profession of physical therapy and future patients. Faculty Spotlight: Paul M. Arnaboldi, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology
It's been 45 years since the first Lyme disease case was identified in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Yet over the course of the past four and a half decades, there's been little improvement in Lyme diagnostics. But the arena of Lyme disease diagnostics is on the verge of changing thanks to the research of Paul M. Arnaboldi, Ph.D., assistant professor of microbiology and immunology. His work is revolutionizing the way we test for Lyme disease so that, in the near future, physicians don't have to rely on clinical symptoms as their first, best basis for Lyme. ...November is National Diabetes Awareness Month?
Approximately 88 million adults in the United States-more than one in three-have prediabetes, but more than 80 percent of them don't know they have it. The good news is, prediabetes can be reversed. Take the two-minute prediabetes risk test, and if your score indicates you are at high risk, you should talk to your doctor about having a simple blood sugar test, according to Michael Goldberg, M.D., assistant professor of medicine and chief of endocrinology at Westchester Medical Center.
