SOM Receives Full Eight-Year LCME Accreditation
The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) has reaffirmed the SOM’s accreditation for the maximum eight-year term, marking a significant achievement for the school. This reaccreditation follows a rigorous two-year review, which included a comprehensive self-study covering all aspects of medical education, from admissions to research resources, along with an on-campus assessment by the LCME Site Survey Team. This evaluation ensures that the SOM meets LCME’s high standards for quality and compliance. As an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, LCME approval is essential for medical schools, securing eligibility for federal grants and residency programs and validating the quality of education offered.
