NYMC Raises More Than $10,000 at Annual Race for Rehab Event
Students from the D.P.T. program at NYMC hosted the annual Race for Rehab as a part of their Community Service Project on October 6. This year marks the 26th anniversary, and more than $10,000 was raised for Achilles International, a non-profit organization that provides a supportive community for athletes with disabilities. The 5k race included more than 130 participants, including 46 Achilles athletes, and was followed by an award ceremony and speeches from NYMC alumni. Janet Dolot, M.S., D.P.T., Dr.P.H. ’14, PT, OCS, left, associate professor of the Division of Physical Therapy, who has been a participant since 2006, comments on her favorite part of the event. “I love seeing the creativity and leadership of the D.P.T. students as they organize and implement the race and welcome the Achilles athletes to campus.
