InTouch With Our NCS Family

5th & 6th Grade Basketball Tryouts

If your child is interested in trying out for the 5th and 6th grade basketball teams, you must fill out the attached form and bring it to tryouts. They will not be allowed to tryout until we have the form filled out and signed.

DO NOT TURN THE Attached FORM INTO ANYONE

BUT COACH FOX AT THE EVALUATIONS!! Click HERE for Registration for to Tryout for Basketball

Evaluations for the 5th and 6th grade students will be in the Trojan Hall Gym:

6th grade boys: Monday, October 16 from 5:00pm-6:15pm

5th grade boys: Monday, October 16 from 6:30pm-7:45pm

6th grade girls: Tuesday, October 17 from 5:00pm-6:15pm

5th grade girls: Tuesday, October 17 from 6:30pm-7:45pm

ALL TRYOUTS AND PRACTICES ARE CLOSED—

Please understand that it is very distracting for children to have people in the gym. They need to concentrate and will be under enough pressure as it is, they do not need the added pressure spectators bring.

(This includes standing at the doors and staring in at them).

If your student makes one of the teams, practices and games are MANDATORY. Some of these practices will be in the Trojan Hall Gym; some will be in the High School Gym. Most of these practices will be between 6:00pm and 8:30pm; some may be earlier, depending on the gym schedule.

This is not always convenient for everyone, but I have to work with both the coaches’ schedules and with what gym time I can acquire.

Remember, these are competitive tryouts, and you must have a completed registration form turned in BEFORE your child will be allowed to tryout.

If your child makes one of the teams, you will need to have a physical completed and pay a fee of $75.00. You will not need to get a physical for your child until AFTER tryouts, but get it ASAP if he/she makes it.

If your child had a physical at the school in May or if he participated in a fall sport, those physicals are good for the entire school year and I already have them. Please do not turn in any fees at this time.

If you have any questions, please email me.

Help Bless our Soldiers!

It’s that time of year again!  We would like your help in letting our DeSoto County soldiers know that we appreciate the sacrifices they make by donating items for the Shoeboxes for Soldiers program.

The top 3 schools in the county with the most donations win physical education grants:  $1,000 for 1st place, $750 for 2nd place, and $500 for 3rd place.  Let’s win that $1,000 grant for our school again this year!  Please look below to see what items to send in.

Items need to be turned in by Friday, October 20th to your child’s teacher or in the boxes located in the lobby.

Please do not put the items in shoeboxes.  We will pack everything up in larger boxes.

You can write the soldiers an encouraging note if you wish.  The soldiers LOVE these!!!  We do not recommend giving them full names, addresses, or phone numbers.

Thank you for supporting our troops!
