STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS
Elections for Student Council will be held next Wednesday, 8/26. Any student planning to run needs to pick up information from Mrs. Watson or Mrs. Dedman. Intent to run forms must be turned in TODAY, Thursday, 8/20 with speeches due for approval Monday, 8/24.

TIME FOR SCHOOL PICTURES
School pictures will be taken next week. These will be available for purchase and will be included in the Trojan yearbook. We ask that no hoodies be worn for the picture. A polo shirt should be worn by all students.

Lower School (PK-2nd grade) will be taken on Wednesday, August 26.

Lower School (3 – 6th grade) will be taken on Thursday, August 27.

Upper School (7-11th grade) will be taken on
Monday, August 31.

Please avoid scheduling appointments during this time.
MASK UP NORTHPOINT!

Starting (8/20), all students may purchase masks. Each student has a limit of 2 masks.

-Gaiter style mask is $5
-Other masks are $3

The gaiter mask is one size fits all. The other masks come in youth or adult sizes.

We will allow students to bring money or a check to purchase the additional masks. Students may shop before or after school.

A parent may schedule an appointment to purchase masks. We ask that parents NOT come during arrival or pick up as staff is limited during these times. Visitors must have temperatures checked and wear a mask.

Each Friday (until further notice) is a spirit wear and jeans day for all students and staff. T-shirts and spirit wear items are available for purchase in the elementary office.e office.

There are a few copies of the 2019-2020 yearbook available to purchase. The cost is $50 and they are available in the
Admissions Office.

SIGN UP FOR TEXT MESSAGES

NCS offers a texting program to receive texts for important information. This is also where we inform school dismissal for inclement weather, early dismissals, or school-wide reminders if something major is happening. 
Parents must OPT IN EACH YEAR to receive the texts. To be added to the data base text ncstrojans to 955-77. You will receive a notification indicating you have been added.

GOLF TOURNAMENT
Calling all Golfers: The 2nd annual David Manley Golf Tournament will be held on October 1, at Wedgewood! We had great sponsors of last year's tournament and hope YOU will consider being a sponsor in 2020. The golf tournament raises funds for the David Manley scholarship.  Click HERE for David Manley Golf Tournament Details
Any extracurricular or sports activity will be subject to directives by Governor Tate Reeves' executive order now through expiration on August 31.
 
Those attending an athletic game will be limited to two individuals who will be attending the game to support each student-athlete. 
 
1. The 2 names of those attending will be written down next to the player's roster name on admission to the game.
2. Each fan must wear a face covering to be able to get into the game. The face covering should be worn at all times per the TSSAA. 
3. Entrance to games will be through the entrance marked with the "Home of the Trojans" sign. Those attending will have a temperature check before a ticket is purchased. Anyone with a temperature will not be admitted into the game. This is a TSSAA guideline.
We request that family groups sit together in designated seating areas and maintain physical distance from others. Contact tracing may be required if it is determined that COVID-19 was spread at the game and the lists of those attending will be used.
TSSAA REQUIRES ATHLETES TO ANSWER QUESTIONS WEEKLY

Students playing JV and Varsity sports are asked to answer the above COVID symptom screening questions.

If a student answers yes, to any of the questions they should see a medical provider.
Lady Trojan Golf Team Wins!

Congratulations to our Lady Trojan Golf Team. They won their season opener against Fayette Academy and Briarcrest on 8/13. Low round medalist is Ella Cress with a score of two under par, or 34.
LADY TROJAN SOCCER TEAM FINISHES FIRST GAME WITH A DRAW

Lady Trojan Soccer team finished their season opener in a 0-0 draw against Brighton. They hosted the Cardinals on the new Dr. and Mrs. Clare E. Cox Soccer Field.


Trojan Golf Team Wins!

Congratulations to our Trojan Golf Team. They won their season opener against Tipton Rosemark Academy with a score of 159-170. Brady Smith had the low score with a par 36 for the Trojans.

To protect our campus during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are keeping our campus closed to walk-in visitors.  Our cafeteria is also closed to guests.

If an item needs to be delivered or dropped off for a student, the item will need to be left at the Security Desk of the main building. The name of the student, and student grade should be marked on the item. The security desk will work with office staff in calling students to pick up the needed item. This is for all items to be dropped off in grades PK-12. There will be no parent admission past the security desk for dropped off items.
 
If a parent needs to meet with a teacher or administrator, shop the spirit wear store, or pick up materials an appointment must be made by calling the office.  
DAILY AFTERCARE WORKERS NEEDED

Northpoint provides before and after school care for students from 7am-8:15 am, and after-school until 6pm. Trojan Care will follow the same safety protocols as those used during the school day. Students attending will have temperatures checked on entering Trojan Care, social distance, wear masks on transition or when activities require it.  

Trojan Care has adult workers and also student workers who will all be trained in making sure safety protocols are followed in caring for students in Trojan Care.  

At least 4 new Student Trojan Care workers for 2020-21 are need to work Monday-Friday. The hours are 3:20-6:00 pm. Interested students, age 16 and up, should contact Trojan Care Director, Tammy Sousan, at [email protected] 

Procedure for Student Exposure or Testing Positive for COVID-19:

The parent should call the school and ask to speak with our school nurse, Mitzi Phillips.
 
The school nurse will talk with the parent (working with the Health department and administration) through the above chart to determine how long the student should be out.  

The student's identity will be kept confidential.

The school will do contact tracing and notify other students/teacher of an exposure. Exposure is defined as within 6 feet for greater than 15 minutes.  

If quarantine is recommended the nurse will work with the family on their return to school.
The student(s) will remotely learn while in quarantine. The family will arrange pick up of needed items from school. 
DAILY ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

All students will have their temperature checked before entry into the building. Students should physically distance while waiting for temperature check and entry. (Students in 1-12 should have masks on upon arrival.)

PK, JK, and SK student arrival only
we do ask that parents to walk the child to the preschool door for your child's temperature to be checked. We request that you only send one parent to walk the child up and that parent needs to wear a mask.

1st-6th grade students
will walk up the main walkway to the front doors- there will be faculty members there to check temperatures. Students should have a mask on when they arrive to campus and walk up to the front doors alone.  If it is prior to 7:35, students will go to the cafeteria for Trojan Care. If arrival is between 7:35-8:15 students will proceed to their homeroom. 

Upper School Student Arrival Procedures:  Students in grades 7-12 should wear a mask on arrival and have their temperature checked before entering school. They should arrive closer to 8 am and enter through the main entrance if they are in grades 7-9, and east wing entrance if they are in grades 10-12.
