Family Fun Day and Disability Resource Fair

Sunday, May 17th | 12pm-4pm

Join us for our annual Family Fun Day and Disability Resource Fair on Sunday, May 17, at Central Park of Morris County!


This rain‑or‑shine community celebration brings together families, local resources, and inclusive activities for all ages. Enjoy music, games, STEM activities, a food truck, a reptile show, prizes, and more; plus take part in our interactive activity scavenger hunt, a favorite tradition that adds adventure and fun throughout the event.


The day wraps up with an exciting wheelchair softball game at 3 PM. Come celebrate inclusion, connection, and community. Spring is in full bloom! 

Enhanced Life Skills 2026:

Self Check-Ins & Personal Progress Tracking


Join us for Class #3 in our Enhanced Life Skills workshop series, an in‑person, supportive session focused on helping adults strengthen relationships and communicate with confidence.


In Building Healthy Relationships & Boundaries, participants will explore easy and effective ways to do self check-ins and keep track of their progress. This session introduces simple, supportive ways to notice personal growth, reflect on goals, and build routines that make self‑monitoring feel achievable.

Return of Wheelchair Softball League!

Ready to try something new and exciting? We are excited to continue partnering with the NJ Blues Wheelchair Sports League and launching a new season and welcoming players of all experience levels. Kick things off with an exhibition game on Sunday, May 17 at 3 PM, then keep the fun going with weekly Tuesday evening sessions from May 19 through August 25 at Challenger Field in Central Park of Morris County.


Whether you’re returning to sports, adapting after an injury, or just looking to stay active and connected, this adaptive league offers a supportive, high‑energy environment to move, play, and build community. Let’s play ball!

Celebrate Older Americans Month - May 2026


Every May, Older Americans Month honors the contributions of older adults while reaffirming our shared responsibility to support healthy aging. This year’s theme, Champion Your Health, emphasizes prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility as essential foundations for long‑term independence and quality of life. By encouraging older adults to take an active role in managing their health, through self‑advocacy, preventive care, and informed decision‑making, the theme highlights how individual empowerment, combined with evidence‑based programs and strong community partnerships, can help people maintain strength, connection, and well‑being as they age.

Caregiver Café Symposium - A Morning of Support & Self Care

We are proud to co‑host the Caregiver Café Symposium on Saturday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Hospital, Warren Campus. This free, interactive event is designed for caregivers of all kinds and offers a welcoming space to pause, reflect, and focus on well‑being. Participants will rotate through engaging breakout sessions focused on mental health, coping strategies, relaxation, self‑care, resource mapping, and a Virtual Dementia Tour. Attendees will leave with practical tools, new perspectives, and renewed support for their caregiving journey.

Have Your Voice Heard: SRC & DVRS Public Forums


The State Rehabilitation Council (SRC), in collaboration with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), invites individuals with disabilities, family members, and community partners to participate in upcoming virtual public forums. These listening sessions provide an opportunity to learn more about DVRS services and to share your experiences, feedback, and ideas for improving access and service delivery in New Jersey.


Join one of three virtual sessions on May 13 (3–4:30 pm) or June 2 (11 am–12:30 pm). Your input will help shape a more responsive and effective vocational rehabilitation system. Registration is required.

Big Futures: Supporting the Next Chapter


Graduating from high school is a major milestone and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey is here to help young adults take the next step with confidence. Big Futures is a mentorship program for ages 18–25 that continues the trusted mentor relationship beyond graduation while opening doors to education, career exploration, and personal growth. With guidance from mentors, a dedicated Case Manager, and community partners, participants gain the tools and support they need to plan for the future and build lasting independence.


Mentorship doesn’t end at graduation; it grows with you!

ADA Webinar: Tales from the Technical Assistance Line


Join ADANN and the Northeast ADA Center on Tuesday, May 5, from 1:00–2:00 p.m., for a free, engaging webinar that takes you behind the scenes of the ADA technical assistance line. Learn about commonly asked, and sometimes tricky, questions related to employment, service animals, education, accessible websites, effective communication, and more. The expert TA team will share real cases, how they approached each situation, and what the ADA requires, offering practical insight into navigating ADA‑related challenges.
