Unlocking Potential | Revealing Possibilities

Karen,

Like you, no matter where my career takes me, I'm a parent first, and I have all the same worries every parent has: Are my kids okay? Are they getting the best possible education? Are they physically and emotionally healthy? Are their needs being met?

Also as a parent, I think that whatever affects your kids, affects mine, too. That's one of the reasons why, when I founded ChildNEXUS to bring parents and professionals together to coordinate care and services, I made sure there was a place for schools and educational services in the ChildNEXUS community.

Our schools play a vital role that cannot be overstated in any child's development. Aside from being centers of learning, they are often also the first responders to any child's developmental challenges, from struggling in a subject to social and emotional difficulties.

As we prepare for the school season to begin again, I wanted to take a minute to recognize some schools that go the extra mile to serve kids who think and learn differently.
