MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT & CEO

Dear friends,

For many nonprofit organizations, June 30th marks the end of the fiscal year—an opportunity to reflect on our journey and confidently set our course for the future. This reflection allows us to celebrate our successes, learn from our experiences, and ignite inspiration within our team as we embrace the new fiscal year ahead.

We take great pride in what we accomplished during FY2024-2025. Our commitment to strengthening our financial health and achieving milestones, both big and small, fills us with pride. Whether it’s how we've supported clients on their wellness journey, the positive ways we engaged with community partners, or recruiting a terrific new hire, every effort matters.

One of our critical achievements has been the near completion of a facility renovation project, which will allow us to hire more clinicians. This expansion will enable us to serve more children, adults, and families in need of mental and behavioral health services. Additionally, our team is in the process of finalizing our next strategic plan, which will outline our vision for LifeBridge and our role in the community in the coming years.

We are excited to share our victories and vision with all of you—our partners, funders, and stakeholders. Stay tuned for a “Save the Date” invitation for our Open House this fall… it’s an event you won’t want to miss!

In community,

Edith

Donor Match Challenge

As we near the finish line of our fiscal year, we’ve received an exciting challenge that calls for your support!

If we can rally together to raise $5,000 by June 30th, a generous donor will match those funds, effectively doubling our impact. This is not just a fundraising goal; it's a chance to unite as a community and celebrate our collective strength.

We invite you to join members of our dedicated team and board to not just meet but exceed this target!

Are you ready to make a difference and have some fun along the way? Let’s do this!

Symposium Recap: A Powerful Gathering for Community Healing

Thank you to all who helped make this year’s Symposium a success. With hundreds of attendees, the event brought together leaders in health, education, and justice to explore the roots of childhood violence, its connection to trauma, and community-driven solutions. The event is more than a gathering—it helps us connect more deeply and increase our shared impact.

Renowned psychologist Dr. James Garbarino headlined the evening in a compelling fireside chat moderated by civil justice advocate and former LifeBridge board member Attorney Preston C. Tisdale. A dynamic panel discussion followed, hosted by Edith Boyle, featuring Dr. Manisha Juthani (CT Department of Public Health), Earl Bloodworth (CT Against Gun Violence), Dr. Meredithe McNamara (Yale New Haven Health), Dr. Sheryl Veliz (St. Vincent's Medical Center), and Jacquelyn Santiago Nazario (Compass Youth Collaborative).

Thanks to support from Presenting Sponsor Yale New Haven Health and others, the event remained free to all, maximizing community access. Local partners—including The Child and Family Guidance Center, Bassick High School, Wakeman Boys and Girls Club, and StreetSafe Bridgeport—were spotlighted in a special partner feature video.

Sneak Peek! We've renovated our headquarters in Bridgeport to expand our clinical team to serve additional clients, create a new art therapy studio, refresh our staff lounge, and offer a meeting space for partners. We hope you'll join us for an Open House in September!

State Budget Advocacy: Did you know?

Direct service providers like LifeBridge are only reimbursed for 43.5% of the actual cost of care, leaving the burden on providers to fundraise to cover the difference. 83% of our clients rely on Medicaid for their healthcare coverage.

Our Trauma-Informed Community of Practice (TI-CoP) has engaged over 500 unique participants from over 200 organizations and growing. Recordings of monthly virtual meetings can be found on our website.

Join us for our next meeting on June 24th to learn how LifeBridge is evaluating and modifying our practices to better support those affected by trauma.

Edith Boyle was awarded the 2025 Daniel F. Caruso Public Service Award by the Office of the Probate Court Administrator and the judges of the Connecticut Probate Assembly for her work helping the Connecticut Probate Courts adopt a trauma-informed approach by understanding the trauma that children, adults, and families in their courtrooms may experience and adapting courtroom practices to best support their success while engaged with the judicial system.

Members of our Behavioral Health team engaged in an interactive training that emphasized the effects of substance use disorders on families at The Connecticut Women's Consortium this month.

Join us for our next Community Resiliency Model (CRM) Training at LifeBridge on July 21. CRM training helps people and communities understand and manage the impact of trauma and chronic stress. Open to all and space is limited. Learn more!
