All-Pro Parent Breakfast

All sixth-grade parents and students are invited to an All-Pro Parent Breakfast in the IMS cafeteria on Friday, February 28, from 7:15 to 7:40 a.m. The All-Pro Breakfast includes a message for both parent and child to take away. Our wonderful PTO provides this event for all.

IHS Basketball Tournament

Independence will be hosting an OHSAA Tournament Boys Basketball game on Friday February 21st and the Division 3 District Wrestling Tournament on February 28th & March 1st. For all OHSAA tournament events held at Independence High School, all spectators will need to purchase a ticket as we can not accept our Independence Passes or CVC Passes for these events. Please note there is also no senior discount available for these events. Thank you for your understanding as we are excited that our Blue Devil Athletes will be able to play tournament games here at Independence.

Tickets for OHSAA tournament games will be available for purchase online at: https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets and there will also be cash sales available at the door.

Thanks!

Yearbook Order

It's time to order your 2024-2025 IMS Yearbook! Please see the flyer for information on how to order.

Eighth-Grade Science

In eighth-grade science, students started learning about evolution and how the meaning of “survival of the fittest” correlates with natural selection. Today, students mimicked Darwin's study of bird beaks to determine which were best suited for the environment.

WIMS Needs Videos!

At the end of the third quarter the WIMS students will be featuring their 3rd Quarter Newscast. We are in need of videos of 7th grade boys basketball, 8th grade boys basketball, and middle school wrestling. Videos can be sent to rpietrzak@independence.k12.oh.us. If you have Google Photos, you can share them with rpietrzak@independence.k12.oh.us. Please take/send videos in landscape mode, holding your phone sideways. WIMS welcomes videos from students, parents, staff... ANYONE! Thank you! If students or staff have them on their phone they can stop by and see Mrs. P. to transfer them to the WIMS crew instead of sending through email. Thank you!

Eighth-Grade Parents

Mrs. Satola is starting to work on the eighth-grade slideshow, which will be shown at the end of the school year. Please submit a baby picture of your son/daughter, preferably one in which they are less than two years old. Please make sure no one else is in the picture. Pictures are needed by the end of January and should be emailed to Mrs. Satola. Please include the name of your son/daughter in the subject line. Thank you!
