The following are not permitted:

  • No costume masks covering the face.
  • No weapons or props can be carried.
  • No images or symbols that would be deemed offensive.
  • No costumes that would pose a hazard or restrict a student from sitting or moving through the hallway.
  • School dress code applies (appropriate length/not revealing)

Thanks for your cooperation as we try to make the day fun and exciting. While still focusing on our primary responsibility of teaching and learning.

Fall Sports Banquet

IMS Fall student athletes and their families gathered together on Wednesday evening for the IMS Fall Sports Banquet. It was a night where our middle school cheer, cross country, football and volleyball coaches took some time to recognize just what makes our student athletes so special. The night started in the MS auditorium by offering a small token of thanks to the many people who worked to make the 2024 Fall sports season a success. The season could not have been what it was had it not been for all involved working together. It truly takes a village! The next portion of the program allowed coaches to speak about their 2024 IMS Blue Devil Award recipients. The Blue Devil Award is presented to exceptional student athletes who embody the spirit of teamwork, leadership, and integrity. The award recognizes individuals who serve as the backbone of the team philosophy. The individuals chosen demonstrated an unwavering dedication to their sport, a relentless work ethic, and earned the respect of their teammates and coaches. Congratulations to the following student athletes on being honored as the Fall 2024

Blue Devil Award recipients:

Mickey Caruso (Football/7th grade)

Adriana Giovinazzi (Volleyball/8th grade)

Della Hanawalt (Cheer/8th grade)

Violet Jacob (Volleyball/7th grade)

Dom Marek (Football/8th grade)

Finn McNamara (Boys Cross Country/8th grade)

Paige Noggle (Girls Cross Country/7th grade)

The last part of the evening allowed individual teams time to look back at their season and reflect on the individual student athletes and coaches. Each coaching staff had their own unique approach to how this was done. Some shared food, others played parent vs. student volleyball, gifts and individual awards were shared , lots of pictures were taken and some people even listened to AC/DC. There was one constant that could be seen throughout IMS, and that was people walking around with smiles on their faces. Parents were beaming with pride as coaches spoke about their children and the student athletes looked both happy and proud as they received a little love and recognition from their coaches. Special thanks to all who attended for making this a great night for our 7th & 8th grade Fall student athletes!

Seventh-Grade Trip to see A Christmas Carol

The seventh grade is scheduled to see A Christmas Carol at the Great Lakes Theater on Thursday, December 12, 2024. This has become a seventh grade tradition. It is a wonderful way to start the Christmas season! Following the play, we will return to school to enjoy a pizza luncheon. Students were given the green permission letter this week detailing fees and deadlines, Please ask your son or daughter for the letter if you have not yet seen it!

All permission slips, checks, and cash should be returned to Mrs. Yaro-Linderman.

Intramural Kickball

"Good season, everyone!" is what Emerson Urie posted on the Grade 5 Team page last night.  Emmie's comment sums up how the 2024 Intramural Kickball Tournament went from start to finish. This year's participants cheered each other on and encouraged one another on a daily basis. Players would congratulate an opponent for unleashing a three run blast that would prove to be the game winner. They shook hands after games. Kids had fun! Enthusiasm and sportsmanship were regularly on display, and that speaks volumes about the 38 participants who trotted out onto Alumni Field at Stan Skoczen Stadium for a little recess kickball. When asked to sum up the kickball experience, several kickball players commented that it was fun, organized and 4 out of 5 kids surveyed said Mr. Durny is a better pitcher than Officer Troy!

Congrats to the 2024 Intramural Kickball Tournament champs. Team 2 made up of Andrew Cerny, Clayton Clark, Noah Clymer, Austin McCarthy, Bryce Murphy, Sophie Percaciante, Adelyn Riedel, Jase Schillace, and Emerson Urie. Special thanks to Officer Billy for making a last minute call up and for showing everyone that it's never wise to try to run on the IPD, and to Officer Troy for joining the pitching rotation and throwing eight complete games the final two weeks of the season.  Great job everyone!
