Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every store is unique and independent, and every party is different. But in addition to authors, live music, cupcakes, scavenger hunts, kids events, art tables, readings, barbecues, contests, and other fun stuff, there are exclusive books and literary items that you can only get on that day. Not before. Not after. Nowhere else.

Advance Reader Book Table!
Saturday, April 30th
We know our readers love our advanced reader blind bags, this month we are switching it up to do something a little different. On Independent Bookstore Day, Saturday April 30th, we will have a table displaying all the books that would have been in those blind bags. This time, however, you the reader can browse through them and select however many you wish for $1 PER BOOK to donate to the Community Kitchen.

We will be running a fun little event during the week of Independent Bookstore Day at the Keene location. Join us for a Bookstore Bingo!
There are two games going, one for kids and one for adults. Readers can get their bingo card at the front counter and on that card will be clues, hints, and little puzzles that direct you to an author, series, or section of the store.
When readers find the answer to the clue, there will be a word labeled on the shelf that needs to be written down into the box on the bingo card. Once a reader gets a bingo, turn in the card at the front counter after filling out the contact information. If the reader wishes to challenge themselves, they can aim to solve the whole card for a bonus entry to the raffle! A finished card will have a quote that our readers complete by finding all the words.
At close on Saturday, we will do the drawing for both kids and adults and one adult and child from each group will win a $25 gift card.
Readers will be limited to one bingo card per person and in only one group. So, any one person cannot do a card for both kid and adult. The kids' bingo is aimed to any person under 17 years and under. If a teen wishes to do an adult one, they may, they just cannot do a kid one as well.
Example of answer found on shelf & it's clue:
Clue: "Her special day is right around the corner. Make sure you pick up a sweet little gift for that one special individual."
Answer: Mother's Day - located at the Mother's Day Table Display. At the display the reader will find a word to write on the bingo card in that clue's box.

Dave Kobrenski is an artist, musician, and author of three books, including his most recent book, a narrative memoir titled Finding the Source.
Between 2001 and 2016, Dave traveled extensively in West Africa to study traditional music with master musicians, including Famoudou Konaté, Sayon Camara, Nansady Keita, and more. His apprenticeship with Lanciné Condé, a master of the Malinké flute tradition, lasted for fifteen years until Lanciné’s untimely death in 2021.
Dave plays the Fulani flute, kamale ngoni (a 10-string Mande harp), djembe, and balafon with his main music project, called Afroflute. Kobrenski has also performed throughout the Northeast with various projects, including Donkilo Afro Jazz, Sayon Camara and Landaya, and occasionally collaborates with Barika.
As an artist, Dave conveys his love for culture and diversity in his vivid portrait drawings and rich watercolor paintings. His artwork can be seen in his first two books, Djoliba Crossing and Drawing on Culture.

Annie Wenger-Nabigon, Ph.D., is a retired therapist and social work educator. She was born in the mountainous southern territory of the Osage Peoples (north central Arkansas), the oldest child of Mennonite medical missionaries, and spent most of her childhood years in a Mennonite community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the traditional territory of the Susquehannock Peoples. She has traveled across many territories, borders and boundaries, always learning, always finding the Light. She currently resides in northern Ontario, Canada.

Guntis Goncarovs is an analytical chemist by education, a historian by interest, and a storyteller by passion. Born in Seneca Falls, New York, to Latvian immigrants, Goncarovs spend his early years listening to his parents' and grandparents' stories of the old country. He studied of Latvia and family history for over twenty years, and returned to his homeland on several occassions to explore the land which so consumed his attention. Goncarovs and his wife, Joan enjoy the wonders of New Hampshire with their dog, Sasha.
