Calling SOS on the SSAT and SAO!
We're here to help on this important admission test and online application!

We understand that the independent school application process can be stressful at times, so in this issue we want to provide details about one important component to the application, the SSAT. We picked out the information that we have found is most useful for our clients, so you don't have to search the web for these details. And lastly, we want you be aware of SSAT's Standard Application Online, which is a great way to save time and to avoid the stress of juggling multiple applications. As always, let us know if we can help!

Is your child thinking about applying to an independent school? Is your child entering 6th grade or higher? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then he/she may be required to take an admission test called the SSAT. In this newsletter, we will discuss the who, what, when, where, and how of the SSAT. And finally, you will also learn an easier way to apply to schools!
Who takes the SSAT?
  • Most students applying Grade 6 through PG, who are applying to independent schools.

What is the SSAT?
3 things to know about the SSAT
  1. It measures basic verbal, quantitative, and reading skills students develop over time.
  2. It is just one part of the complete application to an independent school. For many schools, students with a wide range of SSAT scores are admitted.
  3. It is written by independent school teachers and test experts with questions emphasizing critical thinking skills and problem solving.

SSAT's Standard Application Online

  • It only requires the biographic information, student essays, and parent statement and one set of teacher recommendations and transcript.
