Fact Sheet: Indian Creek Drive Bike Lane

Project Overview & Benefits

The City of Miami Beach is set to commence the construction of the Indian Creek Drive Bike Lane, a pilot mobility initiative aimed at improving cycling infrastructure and safety. The bike lane will be installed on Indian Creek Drive from 25 Street to 41 Street.


The primary objectives of this project are to strengthen bicycle safety and connectivity, encourage alternative transportation modes, and enhance the overall mobility experience for cyclists, residents, and visitors.


What's Happening?

This project will be carried out in three phases to ensure successful completion and effective implementation as outlined below:


Phase I: Southbound West Lane

  • Removal of existing pavement markings.
  • Installation of temporary pavement markings in preparation for Phase II.


Phase II: Southbound West and Center Lanes

  • Removal of existing pavement markings.
  • Installation of new pavement markings for new bike lanes.


Phase III: Southbound East Lane

  • Installation of new pavement markings.
  • Placement of Zicla clusters.


Timeline

The project is set to begin in the week of July 7, 2025, and is expected to take approximately 6 months to complete. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Any work during extended hours, weekends, overnight, or holidays requiring prior approval from the City and advance notification to the surrounding community.


Please know that this schedule may change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.


What to Expect

  • Moderate construction noise is expected during daytime hours.
  • Construction materials and equipment will be stored only in designated areas within the work zone.
  • Workers and machinery will be present on-site. Please exercise caution and follow all posted signage when traveling through the work zone.
  • Residents and visitors will have continuous access to their properties and accommodations.
  • Select on-street parking spaces next to the work zone will be temporarily closed to support construction and maintain safety.
  • Detours will be implemented as necessary to ensure public safety.
