Timeline
This project phase is expected to be complete by the spring of 2023.
Construction work hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Extended time is subject to city approval and community notification. This schedule may change due to weather events or unforeseen circumstances.
Project Overview and Benefits
The City of Miami Beach is surrounded by 55 miles of seawall. Of that space, only 5 miles of seawall is publicly owned. Efforts to raise and replace sections of seawalls are steps toward achieving a more resilient waterfront for our city as a whole. Seawalls with higher elevations will help mitigate the bigger picture effects of tidal flooding and rising sea levels.
What to Expect
This schedule may change due to unforeseen conditions or weather.
- Moderate levels of noise are expected during construction.
- Heavy equipment, machinery and workers will be present on the job site.
- The work zone is expected to be accessed from the creek and land side of the seawall for these efforts.
