Indian Gaming’s Experience with Commercial Casino Licenses to be Addressed at Summer Meeting,

July 12-15 in Denver

DENVER – As more tribal operators expand into commercial gaming, what has been their experience? This critical topic – which affects virtually every aspect of legal gaming in the United States – will be examined at the Summer Meeting of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS), July 12 -15 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown.

Representative Shelley Kloba from Washington State will chair the Committee on Indian Gaming session that will study the operational and regulatory aspects of this growing trend. The following presenters will address the Committee:

  • Thomas Grigsby, Director of Government Affairs, Poarch Band of Creek Indians
  • Matthew Morgan, Chairman, Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association
  • Sarah Murray, Shareholder, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schrek and former Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor to the Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs in the US Department of Interior

NCLGS is the only gaming conference in the United States that focuses on legislative decision-makers. The Summer Meeting agenda includes:

  • More than 50 expert speakers
  • Dozens of legislators, in addition to regulators, operators, suppliers, attorneys, lobbyists and media
  • Keynote addresses
  • Legislative Committee sessions
  • Two Masterclasses presented by the International Masters of Gaming Law
  • Two evening networking receptions

In addition, Gaming Laboratories International will co-locate its Regulatory Roundtable with the NCLGS Summer Meeting, and the Sports Betting Regulators Association will hold a general session open to all attendees.
