Meet Me in the Middle

AI & Your Middle Schooler

When it comes to middle schoolers and AI, we are trying to move slowly and thoughtfully—to “get this right.” We want students to see how machines can be powerful tools without teaching them to let machines do all their work. You can read more on this topic and how we are introducing AI technology in the classroom here.

Important Information for Parent-Teacher Conferences

We welcome the opportunity to connect with you about your child's progress in their classes through parent-teacher conferences. Here are a few things to keep in mind about conferences:

  • Each teacher has set an appointment calendar for fall conferences based on their availability this fall.
  • For middle and high school teachers, there are not enough appointments for every family on a teacher's roster. If you do not have items to discuss with a teacher, we ask that you consider connecting with the teacher via email for a progress check, rather than taking a conference slot.
  • Please do not schedule conferences with "Study Hall" teachers. This will allow them to stay more available for students enrolled in academic courses.
  • If you need to meet with a teacher and they are fully booked, you cannot align calendars, or you experience difficulty making an appointment: please reach out directly to that teacher. Even though conference slots often get booked, our teachers will work hard to accommodate schedules to ensure that any family with concerns has an opportunity to connect.
  • Use this live spreadsheet to find links to the teachers' conference schedulers. The first tab sorts all teachers by last name. The second tab sorts teachers by department area. You will need to have your child's schedule in front of you to determine which teachers with whom you should make an appointment.

Indian Hill High School to Offer Low-Cost Youth Cardiac Screenings on Oct 26

Indian Hill School District, in collaboration with MCORE Foundation, will host a low-cost cardiac screening event Oct 26 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the High School for youth ages 12–22.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and provide potentially life-saving preventive screenings to identify undetected heart conditions.

Participants will receive non-invasive electrocardiograms (ECGs) and limited echocardiograms performed by registered sonographers and reviewed by pediatric cardiologists. Screening results will be securely stored in each participant’s account and can be shared with their healthcare provider for follow-up care if needed.

SCA is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating. While it can be fatal if not treated immediately, early detection through preventive cardiac screening remains one of the most effective ways to identify risk factors before a tragedy occurs.

For more information about Sudden Cardiac Arrest, cardiac screenings, or to register for the event, visit www.mcorefoundation.org.

Picture Retakes-October 6th

School picture retake day will be Tuesday October 6th. If a student missed picture day or was unhappy with their original school picture, please sign up for retakes here. Students may only participate in retakes if a parent has signed them up before October 6th.
