Indian Wells Council Member Kimberly Muzik for her support of the desert communities and the Joslyn Center's mission.

This is the time of year when the City sees an increase in short-term rental activity. Below are convenient ways of notifying the City of a suspected short-term rental:

It is important to contact the City as it creates an enforceable record and flags the City of a suspected short-term rental.

On 2/21, Indian Wells City Council adopted an urgency ordinance prohibiting motorized scooters. Staff recommended adopting the ordinance to prohibit mobility sharing services in the City to provide an opportunity to evaluate program effectiveness in other jurisdictions, the potential for a regional approach, and, if desired, make a future recommendation.
The Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) has also started researching a regional policy to address the issue. As companies begin to operate in any one city, it is likely neighboring communities would see riders cross jurisdictional boundaries. CVAG recommends vetting a regional policy through their committees to create a uniform ordinance all member jurisdictions can use. To see the council agenda on the issue, visit:

Desert Wildlife Celebration
|
The day’s events, open to all ages, include meeting and learning about the desert wildlife, interactive educational experiences, enlightening chats, fun crafts, unique games, amazing face painting, a fun photo booth and fascinating storytelling by a tribal elder. In addition, there will be live music and a free, boxed lunch while supplies last.
