Dear Indiana-ACC Colleague,
It's hard to believe we have reached the end of 2021 already. The Indiana-ACC has been busy. We held our Indiana-ACC 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 9. It touched on What Is Impacting CV Clinicians in 2021, Heart Failure, and Prevention. With attendees from Indiana and all over the world, it was a great interactive success. If you missed out, you can view all of the recordings here.
We would like to thank our meeting sponsors: Janssen (Platinum) and Amryt Pharma (Silver).

Common Myths & Rebuttals about the COVID Vaccine
Vijay Rao, MD, PhD, FACC, President-Elect
|
|
As cardiovascular professionals, we are charged with trying to improve the health of our patients across Indiana. The COVID pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to our health institutions, patients, and to us as providers. We must advocate and counsel our cardiovascular patients regarding the importance of getting vaccinated. You have a unique relationship with your patients; they trust you as health advisors. Our cardiovascular patients have some of the highest risks with respect to poor outcomes with COVID infection.
We have put together a guide for you to address some common myths and rebuttals about the COVID vaccine. It is our hope that you will be able to use this information to counsel your patients and help us all put an end to this pandemic.

New JACC Chest Pain Interactive Tool to Help With Guideline Implementation
A new JACC Chest Pain Interactive Tool is now available to help clinicians in determining risk and appropriate testing in patients presenting with chest pain by quickly walking through multiple scenarios based on recommendations from the newly released AHA/ACC 2021 Chest Pain Guideline. The web-based tool easily connects clinicians to the recommendations, tables and figures from the new guideline and outlines the path forward for low- to high-risk patients with acute and stable chest pain. Access the tool, along with additional clinician and patient Chest Pain Guideline resources, on the JACC Chest Pain Guideline Hub.
