RECOVERY IN ACTION
Happy New Year!
The Indiana Addictions Issues Coalition is very excited for the many opportunities for the recovery community in 2019. Our Director Brandon George was selected to do a TED Talk in December 2018. His talk is called "Human Revolution", which addresses how stigma is the biggest barrier in the recovery process. Brandon's voice is being heard around the state and he is making a difference.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES
The 2019 Indiana General Assembly has begun and will be in full swing through April. During the Session, legislators will be dealing with issues critical to Mental Health America of Indiana in which the Indiana Addictions Issues Coalition is a subsidiary. Here are a few bills that we are most interested in supporting. The Senate Bill 33 would establish Indiana's Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Centers (CARC) grant program that would make it possible for patients to receive detox, treatment, and a recovery system in place for their continuum of care.
