The Energy Efficiency and Conservation

Block Grant Program

The Indiana Office of Energy Development has announced a funding opportunity of approximately $1 million for Indiana’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program.

Deadline: Applications should be sent to grants@oed.in.gov by

April 5, 2026

This program will fund efforts to increase energy efficiency and conservation to support energy affordability for local governments and their communities. Grant funds will support energy planning, energy audits, building upgrades, and electric transportation for communities.

Funding for this opportunity is available only to units of local government in Indiana that were not allocated EECBG formula funds directly from the U.S. Department of Energy.

Toyota plans for a second US-made EV after the 3-row Highlander

Toyota announced another $1 billion investment to upgrade two of its facilities, including $800 million in Kentucky to build its second EV in the US. Toyota’s latest announcement includes a total of $1 billion in the US, $800 million of which will go toward its Kentucky plant, and $200 million to be invested in Indiana. The $200 million will be used to ramp up production of the Grand Highland, one of Toyota’s most popular SUVs. The Grand Highlander will join the Sienna minivan at the facility’s east plant, while Toyota will continue building it at the west plant alongside the Lexus TX.
