Join Charge Sync Rewards:

Save on your home electric vehicle (EV) charging - earn up to $96 a year just by charging at the right time.

Who’s Eligible:

• Residential customers with an EV and a level 2 charger.
• Not enrolled in Net Metering Service Rider or Excess Distributed Generation Rider.

How Charge Sync Works:

• Charge your home electric vehicle (EV) between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. (local time) to earn an $8.00 credit each month (that’s $96 per year).
• Standard residential tariff rates apply for all household usage, including EV charging.
• Not charging or charging more than two times during non-designated times in a month will forfeit that month’s credit.
• Forfeiting credits more than three times in a 12-month period may remove you from the program.

Small Commercial Business Rate

Save up to 35%: Discounted off-peak rates for small commercial customers.

Eligibility:

• Stand-alone meter and service designated for a PEV Level 2 (240V) charger.
• Existing account averages less than 4,500 kWh of electricity per month.

Sign-Up: There is no fee to submit an application. Once you apply, I&M will provide you with detailed information and steps to complete the process.

Exciting New Rate for EV Charging Stations

We are pleased to announce a tariff designed specifically for commercially operated, standalone public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Additionally, this tariff schedule will be available to our commercial and industrial customers who wish to take advantage of time-of-use rates specifically for their EV fleet charging needs.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Level 3 charging ports, or
• At least five Level 2 charging ports
• A stand-alone meter and service designated for EV charging station

Commercial Charging Incentive Opportunity

We are excited to announce a pilot program that provides up to $8,100 per charging port incentives for public or commercial and industrial fleet/employee charging.

Eligibility:

• Commercial customers installing Level 2 public, fleet, workplace and multi-family dwelling chargers may be eligible for a one-time rebate of $1,700 per port.
• Commercial customers with Level 2 chargers in qualifying areas (Justice 40 or IRS’s 30 C tax credit) may be eligible for a one-time rebate of $3,000 per port.
• Public DCFC in qualifying areas (Justice 40 or IRS’s 30 C tax credit) may be eligible for a one-time rebate of $8,100 per port.

Join Michigan City's Sustainability Commission for its 5th Annual Earth Month Extravaganza. They will have a small EV display in the parking lot of the Michigan City Senior Center. Any local EV drivers are welcome to volunteer to bring their vehicles for display.

🔋Where do you live?

I live in Bradley, IL.

🔋What is the make, model, and year of your car?

2023 Chevy Bolt EUV.

🔋How long have you been driving an EV?

I've only been driving my EV for about two weeks. It's a new car for me!

🔋What is your typical charging method? (home, public, etc.)

I mostly charge at home, but I use public charging stations for longer charging sessions or if I'm going to the grocery store.

🔋How does your EV's range affect your driving habits?

It makes me feel that I need to drive a lot less aggressively to conserve my battery power as much as possible.

🔋Do you experience range anxiety? If so, how do you manage it?

I absolutely do! I always make sure I know where the closest public charger is, and I always have my level 1 charger on me to plug in somewhere.

🔋Do you find charging your EV at home to be cost-effective?

I have not seen how it affects my ComEd bill yet, but I feel it will be cheaper than getting gas every week.

🔋Do you have any tips for those considering buying an EV?

Do your research! There were a lot of factors that I thought I knew, but I was not prepared for some things.
