CITY OF LAWRENCE INSTALLATION OF NEW EV CHARGERS COMPLETED
Lawrence, IN – Mayor Deb Whitfield has ushered in a new era of electrification for the City of Lawrence. A total of ten (10) new EV Chargers were recently installed at the Lawrence Police Department and Lawrence Fire Station 38.
“We are excited to embark upon the electrification era here in the City of Lawrence,” Mayor Whitfield exclaimed. “It is imperative, now more than ever, to protect our environment and save money”, said Whitfield.
Electron Charger is the manufacturer of the eight chargers for the Lawrence Police Department and the two chargers for Fire Station 38. Electron Charger spokesman Patrick Foley stated, “As a local Indiana company, we are proud to partner with our forward-thinking neighbors in Lawrence as they embrace cost and climate-saving technology.”
The chargers at the Lawrence Police Department and Fire Station 38 were made possible through CLEAResult’s EV Charging for Business Program. The program offers financial rebates to offset the cost of installing Level 2 or DC Fast Charging for public use EVs. Public use EVs are defined as vehicles used primarily to deliver goods or services, such as school buses, transit buses, and public safety vehicles. Under the program, the city received the chargers at no cost.
According to Carl Lisek, Executive Director of Drive Clean Indiana, “The installation of these new charging stations is a testament to the City of Lawrence’s forward-thinking commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable transportation future for all Hoosiers”.
