LaPorte County Adds Four New Ford

F-150 Lightnings to its Fleet

In 2024, La Porte County was awarded a grant to purchase 4 electric Ford

F-150 Lightnings and a public charger. Two of the trucks will replace vehicles in the Parks Department, one will be used by MS4, and the other will be used by the Building Department. The public charger has been ordered and will eventually be at Creek Ridge County Park!

There are 291 Tesla Superchargers at 28 different locations throughout Indiana that connect to NACS adapters, making fast charging possible for other EVs.

The Jeff Bezos-backed electric vehicle company, Slate, is looking to make Michiana its home for manufacturing.

Slate Automotive is a brand-new company that's looking to make affordable and fully customizable electric vehicle pickup trucks. It has a beta facility in Troy, Michigan, but it's looking at a site just outside Warsaw for its first manufacturing hub.
